A level results

Commenting on today’s A level results, Derby Moor Principal Graeme Smith said

“We are delighted with the success of our students in their A Level results, especially in the subjects of Geography, English, History, Psychology, Sociology and Maths where we have sustained our strong performance from 2018.  In addition, vocational subjects at Derby Moor continue to do well and our BTEC sport, business and ICT outcomes are excellent with the majority of students achieving the highest grades.

“Derby Moor is proud of its inclusive curriculum, supporting students at whatever level they need.  This ensures they can progress to university, a high quality apprenticeship or the world of work. This is reflected in our outcomes which have allowed every student at Derby Moor to succeed.”

Head of Sixth Form, Wendy Coley added, “Students have responded well to our culture of high expectations, often going the extra mile in their efforts to achieve some excellent results. Sixth form life at Derby Moor is not just about results, and our students benefit from a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities. We would also like to thank parents and staff for their unwavering support and commitment, without which we would not be celebrating this success.”

Individual results of note include: Aruba Farooq who achieved A*AA and will be studying cancer sciences at the University of Nottingham, Muminah Akhtar (AAA) who will be studying Medicine at Leicester University, Riaz Stevenson (AAB) who will be studying Psychology at Nottingham Trent University, Sanya Bi (ABB) who will be studying Law at Warwick, Adam Merchant (3 Distinction in BTEC Sport) who will study Sport and Education at the University of Derby, Ison Lotfi (AAB) who will be studying Psychology at Nottingham Trent University.
