Student Performance at Derby Theatre
Nine Derby Moor students were selected to take part in a project run by Tamasha Theatre Company; a group based in London who aim to develop theatre targeted towards Asian communities.
The students worked with a professional, freelance theatre director for several months on a twenty minute, one act play that they performed at Derby Theatre on Friday 15 March 2019, before Tamasha’s play “Approaching Empty”.
The play, called “The Lady” was a story about a group of kids who met up at an Eid party (whether they were invited or not), and decided that messing with a Ouija Board would be a good idea!
The students worked incredibly hard and were an absolute credit to the Academy.
Mr Pessoll, Head of Drama said:
I have honestly never been prouder of a group of students. They performed so professionally and, for a brief moment, they weren’t students from Derby Moor; they were professional actors owning a stage. I could not be happier
For anyone that missed it, the students will be performing the piece at our next showcase. Details to follow soon.
