Success at Enterprise for Education Awards Evening

Mr Smith and Mr Kilgour were delighted to attend the first Enterprise for Education (E4E) Awards event at the Derby Law School. E4E are a local based public private partnership that aims to link employers with schools in order to give young people meaningful real world development opportunities.
Staff at Derby Moor Academy had been invited to nominate students for the awards and from this a selection process took place to narrow it down to three shortlisted for each category. We were delighted to have students shortlisted for every award and were the only school in the city to do so.
After a tense period of anticipation the award winners were announced and we were proud to reveal that Luke Clough in Year 12 was nominated by Miss Young and was the over-all winner in the ‘Young Achiever Award’. In addition to that Gagandeep Kaur in Year 10 was nominated by Miss Moulton and was the runner up in the ‘Aiming High Award’, Katie Heald in Year 8 was nominated by Miss Williams and was the runner up in the ‘Young Improver Award’ and Isla Smith, Georgia Jones, Fyza Mir, Arunba Farooq and Alhena Naheem in Year 13 were nominated by Miss Young and were runners up in the ‘Good Citizen Award’. If that was not enough Derby Moor Academy was also the runner up in the ‘School of the Year Award’ for the work we are doing to support all of our students with their careers education.
It was a wonderful evening for our whole school community and something for which we should all feel immensely proud.
