Toyota Industrial Cadets for a week
Sixteen Derby Moor students were selected to take part in an Industrial Cadet programme at the highly prestigious Derby Toyota site. The students spent a week's placement at Toyota commencing on Monday 4th December.
The students participated in a range of activities including hands on challenges, a site visit, interactive workshops and a team challenge setting up their own production line. Students had to work in teams to design and build their own prototype model vehicles working within set budgets and time constraints. Each student was allocated a specific role on the production line.
The week culminated with a presentation by all the students to Toyota staff and a representative from Industrial Cadets to demonstrate what they had learned whilst further developing their employability skills. They also had the opportunity to meet a range of staff from Toyota and learn about their career paths within the organisation.
At the end of the week all the students graduated as an Industrial Cadet and were presented with a Toyota certificate and Industrial Cadet certificate.
Well done to all the students and to Mr Usman and the other staff who supported the week.
