Welcome to Humanities at Derby Moor.
The humanities team are a very committed, hardworking group of staff who operate as a lively, creative and supportive team. There is a strong committment to developing a variety of teaching and learning styles in order to deliver the Humanities curriculum in the most effective manner and to continue to raise our improving attainment.
Staffing
The department consists of ten full time teachers; the Curriculum Director, Assistant Curriculum Director and eight other members of staff, some of whom have additional responsibilities.
Accommodation
There are eight fully equipped humanities rooms, split between the Derwent and Stenson buildings on site at our school. All rooms have stockrooms for teachers and shared resources. Four of these rooms are currently fitted with inter-active whiteboards which have brought a new dynamic feel to their teachers lessons.
Achievement
We are very proud of our improving Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5 results. We work very well as a team to try to ensure that as many pupils reach their potential as possible and to keep improving on our results.
