The Science and Technology faculty is based upon a very committed, hardworking group of staff who operate as a lively, creative and supportive team. There is a strong committment to developing a variety of teaching and learning styles in order to deliver the Science and Technology curriculum in the most effective manner and to continue to raise attainment.
Science is studied up to Year 11 with the option to continue in one of the three subject areas, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, into Sixth Form. A pass at GCSE grants students two grades for Science.
Derby Moor Community Sports College has a very extensive Design & Technology Department, consisting of seven classrooms full of various equipment and resources for studying Design & Technology. Most of our rooms have a number of different resources available, for instance all of our workshops have computers readily available for design work, as do our Food rooms.
The faculty consists of twenty-three teachers; the Curriculum Director, three Learning Directors and nineteen other members of staff, some of whom have additional responsibilities.
